These toys are potent data-collection devices, with even reputable brands admitting in their privacy policies that tech giants like OpenAI and Microsoft may harvest children's personal information.

The market is also flooded with sketchier, no-name companies that offer zero transparency about the AI models they use and operate with nonsensical, copy-pasted privacy policies. Therefore, parents should highly consider the manufacturers' data handling practices and what information is being collected from their children.
