AI - The Crowd Pleaser...Seizer?

A viral video of a Will Smith concert sparked debate after viewers noticed the crowd appeared to be AI-generated, highlighting how advanced AI has become at creating realistic, large-scale scenes. This capability presents a major societal hazard, as the ability to fake or inflate crowd sizes can be used to manipulate public perception of protests and other events.

Experts are concerned this will also lead to a "liar's dividend," where real footage of inconvenient events is easily dismissed as being AI-generated. Although tech companies are developing watermarks and labels to identify synthetic media, these systems are not yet standardized across platforms, leaving users vulnerable to deception.
