OpenAI's new data reveals a surprising trend: most people are using ChatGPT for personal tasks, not work. While its professional use is declining, the chatbot is increasingly being leveraged for practical advice and general information.

The study's key findings show:

• 80% of all ChatGPT usage falls under "Practical Guidance," "Seeking Information," and "Writing."

• Work-related usage has shrunk from 47% in June 2024 to just 27% in June 2025.

• The number of male and female users is now nearly equal, with masculine names dropping from 80% in 2022 to 48% in June 2025.

This shift points to a future where AI is less a workplace tool and more a personal assistant for everyday life.
