Fan conventions are drawing a hard line against AI-generated "slop" to protect human artists and the integrity of their events. In a recent, highly visible incident, an exhibitor at Dragon Con was removed by police for selling AI-generated art, and other major conventions have since clarified or implemented strict bans.

These shows aim to preserve their artist alleys as spaces where fans can directly support creators and their original work, sending a clear message that they stand with human creativity against the onslaught of automated content.
