Warner Bros. is suing the AI company Midjourney for allegedly allowing users to create unauthorized images and videos of its copyrighted characters, including Batman, Wonder Woman, and Scooby-Doo.

The lawsuit claims Midjourney has knowingly profited from this "infringing slop" without permission, a decision the media giant calls a calculated act of piracy. By providing a service that generates near-carbon-copy recreations of its iconic intellectual property, Warner Bros. accuses Midjourney of acting as if it is above the law.

This lawsuit is the latest battle in an escalating conflict between copyright holders and AI companies over the unauthorized use of creative works.
