International network of spammers are exploiting one of history's greatest tragedies, flooding Facebook with fake, AI-generated images of Holocaust victims for profit. Driven by Meta's content monetization system, these creators mass-produce emotionally charged "AI slop" with fabricated stories, knowing the high engagement translates directly into cash rewards.
Holocaust remembrance organizations have expressed distress over the images, stating they are a distortion of history that disrespects the victims. While Meta has removed some of the reported accounts for violating spam and impersonation rules, its ranking system can financially reward content based on its popularity.
