In a chilling example of the dangers of AI, one man's misplaced trust in ChatGPT may have cost him his life. After the chatbot dismissed his persistent sore throat as "highly unlikely" to be cancer, Warren Tierney delayed seeing a doctor for months.

He was eventually diagnosed with stage-four esophageal cancer, with a very low survival rate. While AI can provide helpful feedback at times, human doctors remain irreplaceable.
