Turns out even the House of Mouse is hitting some serious snags with its magical AI experiments. A plan to use a deepfake of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the live-action "Moana" was axed over legal questions about ownership and security concerns.
Another idea for a generative AI character in "Tron: Ares" was zapped after executives feared a public relations nightmare. It seems that even for Disney, the world of AI is less "A Whole New World" and more "Tangled" in a mess of legal and public opinion issues.
