The announcement comes in the wake of a lawsuit filed by a couple who allege that ChatGPT played a role in their teenage son's suicide. While some mental health experts have welcomed the new controls, others argue that the tech industry's approach to mental health risks has been reactive and that more proactive measures are needed to ensure the safety of AI systems.
