This "AI slop" often links to content-farming blogs run by SEO spammers who use AI to generate entire fake articles and profiles to earn ad revenue.

The influx of unrealistic AI imagery is not only making the platform unusable for many but also creating impossible standards that harm real-world small businesses. While Pinterest is experimenting with AI labels, some users are resorting to browser extensions to block the unwanted content and find authentic inspiration.
