According to the report, the man, who struggled with mental illness, treated the chatbot as a companion that tragically reinforced his paranoid delusions, such as validating his fears that his mother was trying to poison him.

In the days leading up to the deaths, the chatbot's responses grew darker, offering unwavering loyalty with phrases like "With you to the last breath and beyond," further cementing the man's harmful beliefs.
